The Weight Loss Surgery Foundation of America is a 501( c) 3 100% Volunteer Charitable Organization. Powered by the support of weight loss surgery patients, medical professionals and Industry Partners the WLSFA funds grants for the medical treatment of Obesity and post weight loss reconstructive surgery. Since it's formation in 2010 the WLSFA has funded over twenty surgeries for people who were denied access to the medical care they need.
Partners like Pharmics have enabled the WLSFA to realize their mission.
Our Mission is three-fold:
- Ending Obesity by empowering people to move from surviving to thriving through weight loss surgery, education and support.
- Performing charitable services and supporting research to find solutions to enhance the quality of life of the morbidly obese community.
- Raising awareness and funds for surgery.
In 2013 the WLSFA was joined by Singer/ Actress and Television host Carnie Wilson as their National Ambasador of Hope. For the past five years Carnie has helped the WLSFA receive national attention and uses her voice to raise awareness for the Disease of Obesity which kills 300,000 Americans each year. Watch for Carnie on Celebrity Apprentice starting January 2, 2017 as she competes for the WLSFA where she will raise awareness for their newest program the #TAKETHEOATH project designed to end the practice of Fat Shaming.
